UX/UI Design Intern (Mandatory Internship, Unpaid) - AI SaaS startup

About Occibo Occibo is an AI-powered SaaS platform for children’s book creation, built by IndieKidz GmbH in Berlin. We help authors, parents, and teachers turn manuscripts into print-ready books through guided editing, instant illustrations, and production-safe layouts. We are looking for a creative and motivated UX/UI Design Intern for a mandatory internship / Pflichtpraktikum . You will help design a clean, intuitive, and high-conversion web app for authors, illustrators, and children’s book creators. You will work closely with software engineers on user flows, wireframes, prototypes, UI components, usability testing, and product design improvements . Tasks What you will do Design UX/UI for an AI-powered web SaaS product used by children’s book creators Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and UI assets Improve user flows for editing, illustration, layout, and book production Collaborate with the engineering team to design clean and user-friendly interfaces Conduct user research and usability testing to gather and apply feedback Contribute ideas to improve onboarding and overall user experience Participate in team meetings and share design thinking across the team Prepare and maintain design documentation and assets Requirements Requirements Currently enrolled in a relevant study program or related educational background mandatory internship preferred, voluntary is also accepted Portfolio showing wireframes, prototypes, or product design work Proficiency in Figma, Adobe XD, or equivalent design tools Understanding of user-centred design principles Enthusiasm for UX/UI design and a keen eye for detail Strong communication skills to collaborate with the team Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment Fluent English Motivated to work in an early stage startup where ownership matters Nice to have Experience with AI tools in your design workflow Benefits Benefits Hands-on experience designing a real AI-powered product from the ground up Direct collaboration with the founder and engineering team A portfolio of shipped UX/UI work you can show future employers Flexible remote working environment Details Location: Remote Internship type: Mandatory internship / Pflichtpraktikum, unpaid Duration: 3 to 6 months Start date: As soon as possible Hours: 20 to 40 hours per week, part time or full time How to apply Send us your CV and portfolio.
