Product Owner

About the role We are looking for an experienced Product Owner to join our client – a global company operating in the digital health and MedTech sector , developing technology solutions that support healthcare professionals and improve clinical decision-making. The role sits within a portfolio focused on clinical insights and digital solutions for oncology care . You will work at the intersection of clinical expertise and software development, helping translate real-world healthcare needs into practical digital products used by clinical teams. This is a role for someone who combines strong Product Ownership skills with a solid understanding of oncology and clinical workflows . You will work closely with clinicians, UX, architecture, security, and software development teams to make sure that the product addresses genuine clinical needs and fits into the realities of healthcare delivery. Daily tasks: - Own, maintain, and continuously prioritize the product backlog based on clinical and business value. - Translate clinical needs and user feedback into clear user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria. - Lead backlog definition and refinement activities with the development team. - Work closely with clinicians, UX, architecture, security, and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. - Support Product Management in preparing features and enablers for upcoming Program Increments. - Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer needs and translate them into actionable product requirements. - Facilitate discussions with clinical stakeholders and help the development team understand the context behind requirements. - Validate delivered functionality from the end-user and clinical perspective. - Lead demos and communicate product functionality and delivered value to relevant stakeholders. - Use clinical evidence, user observations, clinician feedback, and product usage data to support prioritization decisions. - Maintain a clear understanding of product functionality and manage the product requirements baseline. - Identify dependencies, risks, and potential issues early in the development process. - Help ensure that the product delivers meaningful clinical and business value while remaining technically and operationally feasible. Proven experience as a Product Owner or in a similar product-focused role within software development. Hands-on experience in oncology or a closely related clinical domain . Strong understanding of the end-to-end oncology patient journey , including areas such as referral, diagnosis, staging, biomarker testing, treatment decisions, treatment delivery, and follow-up. Experience working in a hospital, cancer center, clinical network, healthcare technology company, digital health, or MedTech environment . Experience working directly with healthcare professionals, ideally including oncologists, pathologists, nurses, and hospital IT teams . Good understanding of clinical workflows and how healthcare professionals interact with clinical systems. Familiarity with healthcare data and systems, including EMR/EHR, pathology, radiology, genomics, and biomarkers . Understanding of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, and DICOM . Experience translating user and clinical needs into user stories, acceptance criteria, requirements, and prioritized backlogs . Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, negotiation, and prioritization skills. Ability to communicate effectively with both clinical stakeholders and technical development teams. Fluent English. Nice to have Experience working in a SAFe environment. Experience with Jira and Confluence . Background in digital health or MedTech product development. Previous software development or technical background. Knowledge of medical device software and clinical safety considerations. Understanding of patient data protection and healthcare regulatory requirements . Experience working with globally distributed teams and international stakeholders. You should be comfortable speaking with clinical professionals, challenging assumptions, understanding complex workflows, and making product decisions based on evidence and user needs. A strong understanding of oncology and clinical workflows is particularly important for this position. Experience with specific product frameworks or tools such as SAFe, Jira, or Confluence is valuable, but clinical domain expertise is the key focus of the role .
