Cloud FinOps Engineer

Location: New York, NY or San Francisco, CA (Hybrid / On-site) Employment Type: W-2 Contract or Full-Time (Must be authorized to work on W-2 in the US without sponsorship) Experience: 3+ Years Job Summary We are seeking a Cloud FinOps Engineer to drive cloud cost optimization and financial accountability across massive multi-cloud infrastructure environments. You will partner with finance and engineering to balance performance with cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities Analyze cloud usage patterns and identify cost reduction opportunities across AWS, Azure, and GCP. Implement automated tagging, budgeting alerts, and resource right-sizing policies. Establish KPIs and reporting dashboards to track unit economics and cloud spend efficiency. Guide engineering teams on cost-conscious architecture design without sacrificing system reliability. Requirements Minimum 3 years of experience in Cloud FinOps, DevOps, or cloud financial management. Deep knowledge of AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Kubernetes resource quotas, and Datadog. Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate financial data clearly to technical stakeholders. Valid W-2 work authorization in the United States (no C2C or cross-border arrangements).
