Senior PL-SQL Developer

Job details We are looking for Senior PL-SQL Developer to join our team in Porto. In this role, you will be responsible for driving end-to-end application development—covering new features, system evolutions, and continuous application support. The ideal candidate possesses a strong passion for SQL engineering, deep expertise in query performance tuning, and a proactive mindset. Main Tasks and Responsabilities: End-to-End Application Development: Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, architectural design, coding, testing, and production deployment. Requirements Refinement: Analyze and understand business needs, maintaining a critical vision to propose proactive, innovative solutions. Advanced Database Engineering: Design and build complex queries, ensuring high database performance, code scalability, and optimized index/partition strategies. Quality Assurance: Implement regular testing cycles using Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices to enforce code quality and stability. Application Support & Maintenance: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve critical technical challenges and environment issues. Operational Availability: Participate in on-call activities to guarantee application reliability and business continuity. What you will need to bring: Oracle PL/SQL Expertise: At least 6 years of professional experience operating as a dedicated Oracle PL/SQL developer handling complex database ecosystems. Advanced SQL Proficiency: Exceptional skills in performance optimization, rewriting legacy SQL code, and structuring highly complex database queries. Agile Methodologies: Complete comfort working within dynamic project environments using Scrum and Kanban frameworks. DevOps Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with modern code versioning workflows, along with continuous integration and continuous deployment ( CI/CD ) pipelines. Testing Standards: Strong practical background in Test-Driven Development (TDD) methodologies. Language Proficiency: Fluent English (minimum B2 level) is strictly mandatory for seamless communication within a culturally diverse team environment.
