Human Power BG is an HR agency that offers consultations and recruitment for some of the best companies in Bulgaria. ~~~ At our client they are significantly expanding the database infrastructure of their leading content firewall platform. Their content firewall is a mission critical system used by some of the largest organizations worldwide, including government, Pharma, Finance, and others. This expansion involves both NoSQL and SQL technologies with rigorous performance, HA and DR requirements. They are looking for a seasoned database expert to help lead this transition from design to deployment. This position is part of their engineering team in Bulgaria , they will therefore have you working in their Sofia office. Responsibilities Define, integrate, and upgrade a comprehensive architecture to support the expansion of our database infrastructure to meet scalability, security, performance and reliability requirements Design, implement, maintain and automate the appropriate backup and recovery architectures Manage the operations for both development and production databases Act as technical lead for the used technologies, by documenting operating procedures and training colleagues Install, configure, patch, and upgrade database software (MySQL/MariaDB, MySQL/MariaDB cluster and others) Create and configure monitors to establish the health of servers and the databases running on them Troubleshoot NoSQL and SQL issues and performance bottlenecks Submit service requests to software vendors and drive resolution through to completion Work with internal and external teams to plan and schedule application upgrades Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements Collate, prepare and present statistical information an conduct data analysis Requirements Diploma/Bachelors/Masters in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Previous working experience as a Database Developer for 5 years Deep understanding of relational databases and database fundamentals, including data storage, data modeling, and data access patterns Hands on experience with Linux system administration, including hardware and software troubleshooting, system maintenance, and design Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process and using Jira, Confluence, Git, Jenkins, etc Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a self-managed, proactive work style Ability to work independently within a team centric environment Analytical thinker with problem solving aptitude Attention to detail Compensation/Perks Youll be rewarded with a competitive compensation package including stock option, additional health insurance, 25 days of annual paid leave, eight-hour workday and hybrid working environment with home office options.  ~~~~~~~~~~ If this position is of interest to you and you meet the requirements, please send your updated CV.
