Printpack’s Medical Division is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position of Product Development Engineer I or Product Development Engineer II (depending on experience). This position could be located in Atlanta, GA, Marshall, NC, or Tijuana, Mexico, and will report to the Product Development Manager.
Responsibilities: Coordinate directly with customers, suppliers, and cross-functionally with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and operations planning for timely, successful commercialization of new blown film, converted products, and product improvements
Design and validate specifications to be fit-for-use and fit-for-make. Data gathering and analysis are imperative for success
Lead customer technical calls/visits and manufacturing/customer trials to ensure communication and expedite commercialization
Serve as primary technical contact for assigned customers
Support manufacturing technical needs for existing specifications and provide onsite support of trials
Be a resource for material/process related root cause investigations
Lead divisional initiatives on new converting and raw material technology. Identify opportunities for innovative growth, disseminating such information appropriately within the Printpack technical community.
Have a bias for internal and external customer service
Embrace and support an innovative, collaborative environment
Qualifications / Experience: Product development or flexible converting experience preferred
Experience considered: engineering or manufacturing experience, flexible packaging (printing/laminating/bag-pouch making/etc.), or a related industry in the capacity of process engineer, and/or process engineering, quality
Experience with continuous improvement, driving cost savings, process improvements, and raw material sourcing initiatives
Evidence of experience in both innovation and onboarding execution
Evidence of relationship building with customers and internal/external stakeholders
Evidence of presentation skills and business awareness
Experience leading cross-functional teams with business results
