We run paid- media campaigns that generate inbound insurance calls and leads across Medicare Advantage, Final Expense, Hospital Indemnity, Auto, and other verticals, and sell those calls to carriers, agencies, and call buyers on a pay-per-call and CPA basis. We also operate a licensed insurance agency and a direct-to-consumer subscription product. Our finance operation is heavily automated: invoices are generated from call-tracking data, and AI agents produce daily P&L, revenue, and reconciliation reports. We are looking for a Controller who will own the numbers, set the rules our systems follow, and keep our books accurate, well-controlled, and ready for investor or lender review. This is a high-ownership role, not a data-entry position. You will report directly to the owners and manage our Billing & AR Specialist. Responsibilities : Lead the accounting function and manage the Billing & AR Specialist; maintain a documented close calendar and SOPs Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, classes, and products in QuickBooks Online Run a disciplined month-end close: accruals, deferrals, bank, credit-card, and balance-sheet reconciliations Prepare monthly P&L, balance sheet, and cash-flow statements, plus segment reporting by business unit and vertical Keep the media/lead-generation business, insurance agency, and subscription business clearly separated in the books Review and approve weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly invoice runs generated from Ringba call-tracking data Manage month-end cutoffs, including billing weeks that cross month-end Reconcile billable calls and revenue against buyer platforms (CallGrid, Retreaver, Everflow) and client CPA sheets; resolve disputes Own collections, AR aging, credit terms, and cash application; report cash collected separately from revenue invoiced Oversee AP for media spend (Meta, Google/YouTube, native, programmatic), telecom, vendors, and contractors Calculate and control tiered media-buyer profit-share payouts Record carrier commission revenue, including chargebacks and clawbacks, and account for Stripe subscription revenue and deferrals Design and enforce internal controls: segregation of duties, approval authority, dual authorization, role-based system access Build and maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast and manage working capital Deliver profitability analysis by client, vertical, media channel, and business unit, and flag unprofitable relationships early Act as finance owner of automated workflows: define business rules, review exceptions, and approve changes before production Coordinate with our US-based CPA and tax advisors on tax filings, 1099s, audits, and quality- of-earnings work Requirements : 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Experience keeping books for US companies under US GAAP, including US-style month-end close Fluent professional English, written and spoken Availability for at least 4 hours of overlap with US Eastern Time (4:00–8:00 p.m. in most of Eastern Europe), with extra availability during billing cycles and close Experience managing at least one accounting or billing team member Advanced QuickBooks Online skills (classes, products, journal entries, reconciliations, reporting) Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills Hands-on experience designing and enforcing internal controls Proven ability to reconcile high transaction volumes across multiple systems Nice to have : Experience in pay-per-call, lead generation, performance or affiliate marketing, or insurance commission accounting Familiarity with Ringba or similar call-tracking platforms, Stripe, Zoho, and ad-platform billing ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification (or in progress) Previous remote work for a US-based company Basic SQL or BI experience (BigQuery a plus) Experience with a company preparing for investment, a sale, an audit, or a QoE review We offer : Competitive monthly pay of 3,000–5,000 USD, based on experience Fully remote, full-time position Direct access to the owners and real influence over how the company operates The chance to build a scalable, trusted accounting function in a data-rich, automated environment How to apply : Submit your resume and a brief summary of your experience with US GAAP, QuickBooks Online, month-end close, high-volume reconciliations, and internal controls.
