We are looking for a Senior Go Developer 🗣 Language Proficiency(English): Intermediate 🧾 Employment type: Full time 🌍 Candidate Location: EU, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, Kazakhstan 🕐 Working Time Zone: CET 🚀 Start: ASAP 🧭 Planned Work Duration: 3 months 👥 Customer Description: The customer is a global mobility and urban services platform offering ride-hailing, intercity travel, delivery, and task-assistance services. 🧩 Project Description: The product delivery team is responsible for the end-to-end passenger experience in a ride-hailing application. ⚙️ Project Phase: Ongoing Soft Skills: • Ability to explain, at any required level of depth, the architecture of projects. • Ability to independently transform ambiguous problems into solutions by clarifying requirements and workload. 💡 Hard Skills / Must Have: • 5+ years of commercial backend engineering experience in production environments. • Strong Go expertise, including concurrency, synchronization primitives, context propagation, goroutine lifecycle management, and graceful shutdown patterns. • Experience building and supporting high-load distributed systems. • Recent product development experience involving complex business logic and evolving requirements. • Strong SQL and data modelling skills, including schema design, joins, aggregations, composite indexes, data type selection, query analysis, and scaling strategies such as replication, partitioning, and sharding. • Experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL. • Strong understanding of caching strategies, including Redis, cache-aside, warm-up, and background refresh. • Experience with synchronous and asynchronous inter-service communication, including gRPC and message brokers, delivery guarantees, idempotency, and load-balancing trade-offs. • Deep understanding of microservice architecture patterns and efficient client-server interactions, including their trade-offs and limitations. • Hands-on experience with observability tools and practices, including metrics, logging, distributed tracing, alerting, and Go profiling with pprof. • Understanding of non-functional requirements, SLA, SLO, and SLI. • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms. • Ability to write maintainable, testable code with solid unit and integration test coverage. • Proficiency with Git and modern code review workflows. ✨ Hard Skills / Nice to Have: • Experience with event-driven architectures, including Kafka, NATS, or RabbitMQ. • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools. • Experience with performance profiling and optimisation of Go services using pprof and trace. • Familiarity with design handoff tools and cross-platform collaboration workflows. • Experience using AI-assisted development tools to accelerate coding, testing, and code review workflows. 📌 Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and reliable backend services according to business needs. • Drive technical research, architecture design, and implementation of backend services and new features. • Collaborate across teams to deliver cohesive and optimal solutions. • Actively participate in code reviews and architectural discussions and help raise the overall technical level of backend services. • Write clean, effective, and maintainable code in accordance with company standards. • Take ownership of the backend services lifecycle, including delivery, monitoring, and maintenance in the production environment. • Set up and maintain observability infrastructure, including metrics, logging, dashboards, and tracing. • Mentor and guide other engineers, advocating for best practices and high standards. 🧪 Technology Stack: Golang, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL 📞 Interview stages: • English check (15 minutes) • internal technical interview (1-1,5 hour) • client interview (1 hour) • client interview – cultural fit (45 minutes) 💼 What we offer Model: B2B contract with Bonapolia - one contract, one monthly invoice Rate: negotiated per candidate seniority and client budget Payment: monthly invoice, paid on the same schedule the client pays us (usually 30 days) Contract written under your country's law We handle the client-side paperwork: MSA, NDA, invoicing 🏢 About Bonapolia Bonapolia is a family-owned IT staff augmentation team based in Lisbon.
