Sector: Sports Events / National Governing Body Title of role: Events Manager Reporting to: Head of Events Direct reports: None stated Salary on offer: £35,000–£39,000 Location / Office address: Loughborough (field‑based with regular attendance at SportPark) WFH / Office / Remote: Field‑based / hybrid flexibility Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with evening/weekend work during events PT / FT: Full time Start date: Not specified Deadline to apply: 11 October 2026 Interview dates: 19 October 2026 A national sports governing body is seeking an experienced Events Manager to lead the planning and delivery of national competitions and corporate events. The role covers the full event lifecycle management, from concept to completion, and involves coordinating delivery teams, managing budgets, ensuring compliance with technical rules and health and safety requirements, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This is a field‑based role with regular attendance at the organisation’s Loughborough headquarters and flexibility around event delivery. Responsibilities Event planning — Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of national competitions and corporate events. Team coordination — Chair planning meetings and manage contractors, suppliers, staff and volunteers. Stakeholder management — Build strong relationships across internal teams, Home Nations and external partners. Compliance — Ensure events meet technical rules, strategic objectives and health & safety standards. Budget management — Manage event budgets, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting. Operational efficiency — Identify cost efficiencies and secure high‑quality services at best value. Project representation — Represent the Events team at project and governance meetings. Concept development — Support new event concepts and cross‑functional initiatives. Collaboration — Work closely with the wider Sport team and Home Nations. Values & culture — Embed organisational values across all event planning and delivery.
