Bookkeeper

About the Role A well-established automotive service and collision repair company in Chicago is hiring a Bookkeeper to keep the financial side of a growing operation accurate and organized. You will own day-to-day bookkeeping, working closely with management and office staff to make sure invoices, payments, and records are correct and current. This role fits a detail-oriented professional who is comfortable working independently, meets deadlines, and communicates clearly. Previous automotive or service-industry experience is a plus. Core Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger entries Process accounts payable and accounts receivable Prepare and send customer invoices and track outstanding balances Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular schedule Record daily deposits and payments accurately Match vendor invoices to purchases and resolve discrepancies Prepare routine financial reports for management Support month-end close and assist with year-end documentation Organize and retain financial paperwork in an orderly system Flag errors, delays, or unusual transactions to management promptly Required Qualifications Proven experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting support role Working knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks Excellent organization and attention to detail Strong communication skills Computer proficiency, including spreadsheets and email Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a busy environment Dependability and a professional attitude Preferred: previous automotive or service-industry experience Benefits & Pay Compensation: competitive, based on experience Career growth and advancement opportunities Supportive, team-oriented workplace Training and professional development Benefits available for qualifying positions Location: Chicago, IL.
