We are looking for a Senior Product Owner to join our Product team and take a leading role in shaping and delivering some of the most important capabilities across SRT 's surveillance and situational-awareness solutions.
This is a hands-on Senior Product Owner role with significant ownership and autonomy. You will work closely with customers, users, designers, developers, technical specialists and senior stakeholders to understand complex problems, shape Product direction and take Features from early discovery through to delivery and adoption.
You as a Senior Product Owner will be expected to lead within your area, make well-judged Product decisions, bring clarity where there is ambiguity and help raise the quality of Product thinking and practice across the wider team.
The role is primarily based from our Bristol office , with flexibility for hybrid working.
Responsibilities – Senior Product Owner – not exhaustive:
Own complex, high-impact or strategically important Product Features from early discovery and definition through delivery and closure
Work directly with customers, users and stakeholders to understand operational problems, identify opportunities and recommend where Product should focus
Define clear outcomes, scope, success criteria and acceptance criteria for the Features and areas you own
Lead early discovery with UX/UI, Development and technical specialists, using research, prototyping and technical investigation to reduce uncertainty
Lead alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders where Features involve significant dependencies, ambiguity or competing priorities
Take a leading role in shaping and maintaining the Product roadmap for your area, working with Product leadership to balance customer needs, business priorities, evidence and emerging opportunities
Communicate Product direction and decisions confidently with senior stakeholders, providing clear recommendations and constructive challenge where appropriate
Maintain ownership through delivery and adoption, ensuring the intended customer outcome is achieved rather than simply tracking delivery of individual outputs
Identify Product and delivery risks early and work across teams to resolve them
Support and mentor other Product team members, sharing good practice and helping improve the quality and consistency of Product work across SRT
Requirements – Senior Product Owner – not exhaustive:
Significant experience working as a Product Owner, Product Manager or in a similar Product role within a software or technology environment
A strong track record of independently owning complex Product areas or Features from discovery through delivery and adoption
Strong understanding of Agile software development and effective Product collaboration with cross-functional development teams
Experience using customer insight, discovery, research and prototyping to shape Product direction rather than simply managing delivery
Strong Product judgement and confidence making decisions where information is incomplete or stakeholders have competing priorities
Experience shaping roadmaps, prioritising opportunities and contributing to longer-term Product direction
Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and able to provide clear recommendations, rationale and constructive challenge
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate between customer, business and technical perspectives
Able to operate with a high degree of autonomy while working closely with Product leadership on wider priorities and direction
Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting other Product professionals would be beneficial
Experience in B2B, B2G, enterprise or operational software would be beneficial
Experience in surveillance, monitoring, situational awareness, asset tracking or similar domains would be useful but is not essential
Benefits
Highly competitive salary and benefits package
25 days annual leave, rising to 28 days with service
Real individual development opportunities
