Bookkeeper | Remote | Australian Accounting Firm

We are looking for a Bookkeeper to join an Australian accounting firm, working remotely from Malaysia. This opportunity is suitable for someone with solid bookkeeping or accounting experience who is organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working independently in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities Record and maintain day-to-day financial transactions accurately. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Prepare and issue customer invoices. Process supplier invoices, payments and expense claims. Perform bank and credit card reconciliations. Maintain the general ledger and supporting financial records. Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations. Prepare regular management reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Maintain accurate records for tax and audit purposes. Identify discrepancies and follow up on outstanding accounts. Support improvements to bookkeeping procedures and internal controls. Perform other bookkeeping and administrative duties as required. Preferred Qualifications and Experience At least two to three years of bookkeeping or accounting experience. Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field. Experience with accounting software such as Xero and MYOB. Strong Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills. Good understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations and general ledger processes. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong organisational and time-management skills. Good written and spoken English and Mandarin. Ability to work independently in a remote environment. Experience supporting an Australian business would be highly regarded. Familiarity with Australian GST, BAS and payroll processes would be an advantage. Working Arrangement Malaysia-based remote position. Full-time. Working hours 8:00 AM–5:00 PM MYT (UTC+8), with reasonable overlap with Australian business hours
