Project Accountant

Project Title Women Entrepreneurship: Strengthening the Entrepreneurship Skills of Women-led Businesses and Women Employees of ETG (AFAWA Project). Project Countries Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe Duration January 2026 June 2028, full-time Reports to Consortium Lead Background The AFAWA project, funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB), seeks to empower women-led businesses (WEBs) and women employees in ETGs agribusiness supply chains. The programme includes training, employability improvement, financial inclusion, and market linkages. Qualification A bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. Master's degree and/or CPA or ACCA certification will be an advantage. At least 5 years of experience in project accounting or financial management of donor-funded programmes (experience with AfDB, World Bank, or similar institutions preferred). Familiarity with multi-country project accounting and foreign currency management. Strong skills in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit preparation. Proficient in MS Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail. Fluency in English is required; working knowledge of Portuguese or Swahili is an advantage. Willingness to travel to project implementation sites across the four countries as needed.
