QA Automation Engineer - TypeScript (Web & Mobile)

Why this role matters As a QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and stability of our client-facing web and mobile products by embedding quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Working as part of a cross-functional product team, you'll partner closely with developers, analysts, DevOps engineers, designers, and product owners to deliver high-quality product increments every sprint. Your primary mission is to build and maintain scalable automated test coverage across web and mobile applications, continuously improve our testing framework and environments, and proactively identify quality risks before they reach production. Beyond testing, you'll help establish engineering best practices, drive AI adoption across quality engineering processes, and contribute to building a strong product and quality culture across the team. What you'll actually do Plan testing activities during backlog refinement and sprint planning by defining test scope, approach, acceptance criteria, and effort estimates for both manual and automated testing Design, develop, and maintain automated tests for client-facing web and mobile applications, with a strong focus on UI and end-to-end coverage Build and expand web automation using Playwright and TypeScript, ensuring reliable coverage of critical user journeys Develop and maintain automated regression testing for mobile applications, working closely with our mobile engineering stack Execute manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing while preparing and maintaining reliable test environments, test data, mocks, and feature flags Continuously improve the automation framework by developing reusable components, reducing flaky tests, refactoring legacy code, and increasing overall test coverage and stability Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, monitor pipeline health, investigate failures, and collaborate with engineers to ensure rapid feedback Participate in production deployments by validating critical client journeys and providing clear go/no-go recommendations based on release readiness and identified risks Use AI tools to improve and automate testing workflows, test generation, development, and engineering productivity Work closely with the product and engineering team, applying critical thinking and a strong product mindset when assessing requirements, test cases, user flows, and potential risks Who we’re looking for 4–6 years of experience in software testing, with at least 2 years focused on automation ISTQB Foundation certification or similar is a plus Strong programming skills in TypeScript and the ability to build and maintain production-quality automation code Hands-on experience with web/UI automation using Playwright Experience building and maintaining automated test suites for complex client-facing web applications Practical experience with mobile application testing and automated regression testing Experience with Kotlin and/or mobile automation tooling such as Espresso or Appium is highly desirable Experience with React Native applications is a big plus Experience designing, setting up, and maintaining reliable test environments and test infrastructure Good understanding of test design, regression strategy, exploratory testing, and quality risks Practical experience using AI tools in engineering workflows, with examples of how tools such as Claude, Codex, or similar solutions have improved testing, development, automation, or productivity Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab CI/CD Working knowledge of Docker, APIs, databases, SQL, and modern engineering practices Critical thinking, ownership, and a product-oriented mindset — you care not only about whether a feature works technically, but also about the quality of the actual client experience Interest in expanding beyond traditional QA responsibilities and gradually contributing to software development as part of a Product Engineering team Collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to work effectively in a calm, supportive cross-functional team What we offer along the way Competitive salary and annual performance bonus Full relocation support for you and your family — flights, housing, visas, and legal assistance included Top-tier health insurance with full family coverage — medical, dental, vision, mental health — plus life insurance for peace of mind Unlimited learning opportunities: external courses, English lessons, career and leadership development Education allowance covering school and kindergarten fees 21 working days of annual leave, plus public holidays and fully paid sick, maternity, and paternity leave Employee appreciation program: branded gifts, birthday day-offs, celebration budgets for weddings, newborns, and milestones “Get to know Team” trips — meet colleagues across our global hubs, along with company-wide offsites that raise the bar Employee share scheme — grow with us Branded MINI Cooper Countryman company car and private parking Free in-house sports clubs, Sanctum Club gym access, and jet skis Access to a Corporate doctor Exclusive discount program with cafes, gyms, and local services Expat tax perks: up to 50% income tax exemption Support with the naturalisation process for relocated employees At Exness, we know that changing jobs - and changing countries - is a big step.
