Cloud Platform Engineer & Architect Location: German-speaking Switzerland, Aargau region (near Zurich) Employment: 80–100% | Permanent Sector: Financial Services About the Organization Our client is a well-established financial services organization operating across Switzerland. The Role You'll take ownership of their central cloud platform strategy, driving continuous evolution of their containerization, virtualization, and CI/CD infrastructure. You'll work across multiple value streams to design and implement scalable, secure platform solutions—partnering closely with internal teams and external technology providers. What You'll Do Design and architect platform solutions that align with business, security, compliance, and operational requirements Lead projects from conception through successful deployment and beyond Build and operate modern platforms in the OpenShift, CI/CD, virtualization, and multi-cloud space Plan, automate, and optimize infrastructure using DevOps, GitOps, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies Collaborate with managed service providers and technology partners to ensure quality outcomes Evaluate emerging technologies and continuously improve platform standards and practices Participate in periodic on-call rotation About You Essential Background Completed higher education or advanced qualification in IT (technical college, university of applied sciences, or university degree) Several years of hands-on experience engineering and/or architecting modern platform and infrastructure environments Technical Skills Strong expertise in Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD pipelines, Linux, and virtualization platforms Experience with Infrastructure as Code and multi-cloud environments (preferred) Ability to develop technical architectures and guide their implementation Comfortable working with managed service providers—you'll define requirements, track execution, and advocate for quality and security Solid understanding of information security principles Knowledge of networking, identity & access management, and security by design Demonstrated technical leadership and the ability to drive sustainable solutions Languages Fluent German (written and spoken) Good English (written and spoken) What They Offer Competitive total compensation package Professional development and training support Employee benefits (banking discounts and other perks) Flexible, supportive work environment
