Job Description
The investment repository (IR) is an application that is used to store and collate investment data to support investment reporting for OMLACSA and certain OML Group entities.
The primary responsibility of the Investment Data Analyst is to manage, maintain and enhance the Investment Repository (IR) and support the delivery of accurate, timely and controlled investment reporting for regulatory, financial and management reporting purposes across OMLACSA and certain OML Group entities.
Key Result Areas Supporting the asset reporting extracts and reconciliations for IFRS reporting purposes
Preparing and supporting the quarterly and annual Regulatory submissions in respect of the Investment Asset reporting requirements
Preparing the asset reporting extracts and reconciliations for SARB reporting purposes
Preparing the quarterly and annual Investment Asset extracts for non-OMLACSA entities
Accountable for analysing, investigating and reconciling investment asset data, reports and exceptions received from external data providers, ensuring completeness, accuracy and consistency
Acquire, extract, transform and integrate data from multiple sources into structured datasets to support reporting, analysis and decision-making
Process, cleanse and validate data to ensure its accuracy, completeness and integrity for reporting purposes
·Manage, collate and review the business unit information used to split investment assets by product category and retail/ institutional business
Supporting asset requirements to other external (e.g. Standard & Poor’s, International Association of Insurance Supervisors, etc.) and internal (Regulatory, Actuarial, Tax, TFM, etc.) stakeholders
Preparing analytical reviews to explain movements in investment asset data
Preparing the biannual report of commonly held investments managed across the various OML asset managers
Perform root cause analysis of data quality issues and work with internal and external stakeholders to implement sustainable solutions and improve data integrity
Responsible for the daily shareholding disclosure reporting (s122 of the Companies Act) and UK Takeover Panel regulations
Responsible for maintaining the team timetable (e.g. data provider deliverables, internal and external deadlines, etc.)
Liaising with external consultants and auditors where required
Understanding and assisting with the implementation of new requirements
Maintain and enhance documented processes, controls and governance frameworks for the Investment Repository, including review and approval of updates proposed by the Investment Data Administrato
Administration of the InfoStore database
Other responsibilities:
Continuously improve the efficiency and capabilities of the function and participate in the broader Finance initiatives and Ad hoc projects across the Group
Ensure that effective and efficient systems, processes and controls are maintained for all investment reporting to appropriate materiality
Other ad hoc projects and activities as required
Requirements: Skills, Qualifications, Experience required
B.Com/Business Science degree
Minimum 3 years relevant experience within financial services
Investment data analysis experience advantages
Good understanding of the different types of financial instruments would be advantageous
Flexibility and willingness to work outside strictly defined role and hours when required
Knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (Oracle/ HFM/ Infostore/ Kaizen Reporting)
Proficient in the use of Excel
Experience working with data in various data sources and databases
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets
Understanding of regulatory and financial reporting requirements
Knowledge of SAM and SARB regulatory requirements will be an added advantage
Good troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills for design, and testing software
