Purpose of Role The Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, budgeting and analysis to support effective decision-making across London & Partners.
This role will focus on core management accounting activities while supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partner with financial insight and business planning where required. The role is suited to a newly qualified accountant who is pragmatic, efficient, and a strong team player.
Key Tasks
Management Accounts & Reporting
Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including: Income & expenditure statements
Balance sheet (statement of financial position)
Clear supporting commentary
Maintain and post accrual entries
Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for relevant areas of responsibility
Produce monthly reports for budget holders and senior management
Budgeting & Forecasting Support the preparation of annual budgets, including consolidation of directorate submissions
Support in maintaining and updating forecasts throughout the year.
Stakeholder Support Act as a key contact for budget holders, providing clear financial information and guidance
Financial Control & Compliance Contribute to maintaining strong financial controls and adherence to procedures
Support procurement processes to ensure compliance
Assist in ensuring transactions are accurately recorded
Statutory Accounts & Audit
Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, including: Supporting schedules
Working papers
Selected disclosures
Continuous Improvement & Systems Support the improvement of financial reporting, forecasting and analysis processes
Assist with system improvements and reporting enhancements
Provide training and guidance to budget holders where required
Other Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and analysis
Support wider finance team priorities as required
You’ll have/bring
Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
Experience working in a medium or large organisation
Advanced Excel skills; experience with finance systems
Skills Strong analytical and problem-solving capability
Ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Attention to detail with a pragmatic approach to delivery
Behaviour & Attributes Proactive and organised
